DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy nature\, fresh air\, and fellowship as we do som
e gardening to improve and enhance Rotary Meadow in the heart of Sutro For
est. Rotary Meadow features a garden of native plants and a view of the 61
-acre forest below. The Meadow was developed by Sutro Stewards volunteers
to restore the native plant population as identified in the 2001 Sutro Pla
 n. The Rotary Club of San Francisco provided the financing to bring this r
estoraton to fruition in 2004. Everyone who walks the trails of Mount Sutr
o owes their nature-walk-in-the-city to the Stewards volunteers\, who have
logged thousands of hours clearing the trails. Before you register\, plea
se review these important guidelines: Arrive 10 minutes early for registra
tion and signing of release form. There will be an orientation\, and each
participant will receive training\, gloves\, and tools from the Sutro Stew
ard leaders. Feel free to bring your own gloves and equipment. The total
limit is 20 people (Rotarians plus guests). Children aged 10 and above of
the participating 20 Rotarians are welcome. Wear closed-toe shoes. If you
want\, bring your own water. Pizza and beverages will be provided after th
e event. Please register so that we can order enough for everyone. Rotari
ans Over Age 60  Sutro Stewards has an option for Rotarians over 60+ and/
or with underlying health conditions (anyone considered to be in a high-r
isk category). This is an adaptation made to Sutro Stewards' regular progr
am to help volunteers feel more at ease. If you wish to volunteer in this
category\, please contact Dan Davies. Parking On-site parking is free duri
ng the program located above the nursery at 476 Johnstone Drive in red spa
ces marked “Aldea Center Parking Only.” Additional street parking can
be found nearby on Clarendon Avenue and Christopher Drive. Photo Policy a
