Bob became a member of the Rotary Club of San Fr ancisco in 2017 after retiring from UCSF Medical Center\, with his spouse Dan Joraanstad serving as his mentor. Proudly taking on the role of Presid ent for the 2024-2025 term\, Bob has a history of service within the Club\ , including as Vice President of Community Service and involvement in vari ous Rotary Youth initiatives such as ALPS and RYLA. He has also participat ed in Rotary international service projects with Alliance for Smiles in Eg ypt and in India for the End Polio Now campaign. Alongside his Rotary invo lvement\, Bob enjoys wine and is an active member of the Rotary Wine Fello wship. Bob’s role at Kaiser Permanente in the healthcare technology area \, played a significant role in implementing electronic medical record tec hnology and where he also served as a Care Delivery compliance officer. Po st Kaiser Permanente\, he helped to lead and project manage key hospital s ystem implementations such as the Pediatric Cardiac Cath/EP Labs and Donor Walls at the new UCSF Mission Bay Hospital as well as work as a Research Program Manager. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management fr om Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey and a Master’s degree in Com puter Information Systems from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Or iginally from New Jersey\, Bob and Dan relocated to the City by the Bay\, San Francisco\, in 1991. Outside of Rotary\, Bob's interests include music \, fine dining\, gardening\, and travel. Later this year\, Bob and Dan wil l be honored in Evanston\, Illinois for their charitable contributions to The Rotary Foundation as members of the Arch Klumph Society.
