DESCRIPTION:John Rothmann returns to speak to our Club to speak on current 
 political events. As always\, John will welcome questions from the audienc
 e.   John is a KGO 810 radio talk show host and political commentator. A
  frequent lecturer on American politics and the presidency\, Rothmann has 
 also been involved in a broad variety of political campaigns on the nation
 al\, state and local levels. In his book Thomas E. Dewey and the Making of
  the Modern Republican Party\, presidential scholar Richard Norton Smith c
 alls Rothmann "a scholar of modern Republicanism". Historian Roger Morris 
 in his biography\, Richard Millhous Nixon-The Rise of An American Politici
 an\, acknowledges Rothmann "for his unique insights\, and in particular fo
 r rare and crucial materials ..."  John has been on the faculty of the Fr
 omm Institute at the University of San Francisco since 2004. Rothmann is t
 he co-author of Icon of Evil: Hitler's Mufti and the Rise of Radical Islam
  and Harold E. Stassen: The Life and Perennial Candidacy of the Progressiv
 e Republican. He was a consultant on the published books\, The Jews in Ame
 rica\, A Day in the Life of Israel\, and Jerusalem: In the Shadow of Heav
 en. His personal library of 15\,000 volumes is widely recognized as one of
  the finest libraries of American political history and biography in the U
 nited States. This is a regular membership meeting of the Rotary Club of S
 an Francisco\, open to all Rotarians\, visiting Rotarians\, prospective me

  you will be charged $60. Please note that once Past President Mary Liu p
 rovides the headcount to the Hotel Nikko on the Friday before our Tuesday 
 meeting\, we will be billed for that count regardless of whether you show 
 or not.  For attendance via Zoom: For those who wish to participate via 
 Zoom\, there is a $10 fee to attend. Parking: If you are driving to the Ho
 tel Nikko for this meeting\, please leave your car with the Hotel Nikko va
