DESCRIPTION:Join us for a reflective Walk for Peace in the towering redwood
s of Muir Woods to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United
Nations. In 1945\, UN delegates gathered at this very site to honor Presi
dent Franklin D. Roosevelt and his vision of global unity — an event com
memorated by a bronze plaque still standing in Cathedral Grove. This meani
ngful morning will include brief remarks from Club Member Heidi Kuhn who i
s the Founder of Roots of Peace and a 2024 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Also
speaking will be a representative from the National Park Service\, who wi
ll share the historic and environmental significance of Muir Woods.  Toge
ther\, we will walk in remembrance of the past and in hope for a more peac
eful and sustainable future. If you wish to attend\, you must register in
advance by contacting patrick.dunn@rootsofpeace.org No walk-ins will be ad
