DESCRIPTION:Susan Tipton\, award-winning woman winemaker\, talks about chan
 ging the trend in the Lodi wine industry with the introduction of white Fr
 ench Rhône wines. She will also share her experience as a woman in the w
 ine business. Susan Tipton is the owner and founding winemaker of Acquiesc
 e Winery & Vineyards in Acampo\, California. Acquiesce is Lodi’s only al
 l white wine winery with nine unique\, estate-grown Rhône varietals on an
  18-acre property featuring a tasting room in a refurbished 120-year-old b
 arn surrounded by wine grapes. Inspired after trying her first white Chât
 eauneuf-du-Pape wines\, Susan began planting her white estate grapes in 20
 08. The combination of Lodi’s fertile soils and these select white Rhôn
 e grapes which are hand-picked\, whole cluster pressed\, and fermented in 
 stainless steel have created quite a buzz\; her wines have garnered numero
 us Double Gold\, Gold\, and Best of Class awards and Best Viognier in Cali
 fornia. Susan was awarded Best Woman Winemaker in the 2022 International W
 omen’s Wine Competition\; she won Best White Wine in the 2022 San Franci
 sco Chronicle Wine Competition along with four Best of Class awards. In 20
 23\, Acquiesce Winery won Visit Lodi’s Winery of the Year. Susan has ser
 ved as a board member for the Rhône Rangers\, on the Lodi Winegrape Marke
 ting Committee\, as board member for the California Wine Education Foundat
 ion\, as a founding board member for the Lodi Association of Wineries\, an
 d as Founding Chair of Slow Food Lodi. Susan lives with her husband Rodney
  in their vineyard home. This is a regular membership meeting of the Rotar
