DESCRIPTION:As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving\, our November DEI Film
  Festival takes a look at the first English settlers to arrive in what is 
 now Massachusetts. The Pilgrims is a documentary that presents the history
 \, religious origins\, trans-Atlantic sailing\, and first years of settlem
 ent Plymouth Colony established when the Mayflower arrived in 1620. The fi
 lm separates historical facts from national myths\, presenting us with a p
 icture of struggles endured by these early settlers. Created by filmmaker 
 Ric Burns (father of Ken Burns)\, The Pilgrims was first broadcast in the 
 U.S. in 2015 on PBS’ The American Experience. This 90-minute film is rat
 ed PG. The ticket price of $20 includes the film\, snacks\, beverages\, di
 nner\, and a discussion after the film. All are welcome to attend this ins
 piring and thought-provoking evening of film and conversation. This event 
 is sponsored by the Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion Committees of the R
