 iew-Hunters Point neighborhood faces some of the Bay Area's most severe se
 a level rise projections. As coastal flooding increases\, native plants pl
 ay a crucial role in protecting shoreline communities — their deep root 
 systems stabilize soil\, reduce erosion\, and absorb storm surge while cre
 ating living barriers that adapt and grow with changing conditions. Unlike
  hardscapes like seawalls\, native plant restoration provides nature-based
  solutions that strengthen coastal ecosystems while supporting local biodi
 versity. Join Rotarians from across the Bay Area and SFSU Climate HQ stude
 nts for this hands-on volunteer day. You'll help tend and grow native plan
 ts\, maintain propagation areas\, and care for demonstration gardens — a
 ll while learning about California native plants and restoration ecology. 
 The plants you nurture will support habitat restoration and climate resili
 ence projects across the region's parks and open spaces. This collaboratio
 n between Rotary's Climate Action Team Network (RCAT) and SFSU Climate HQ 
 brings together community leaders and students working toward environmenta
 l justice and climate solutions. Lunch will be provided after the workday 
 — this is a great opportunity for Rotarians to connect with SFSU student
 s and share ideas across generations! Come grow the plants that protect ou
 r communities and parks! Parking and Restrooms Street parking is available
  for free. Restrooms are nearby. Accessibility: People of all ages and ab
