DESCRIPTION:San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan will share what she is goi
 ng to do for us when she gets to Congress. She has spent her life giving b
 ack to the San Francisco community that welcomed her family when they immi
 grated to America.  Born in Hong Kong\, Supervisor Chan moved to San Fran
 cisco at the age of 13 with her mother and younger brother. After graduati
 ng from Galileo High School\, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the 
 University of California\, Davis and began her career as a volunteer Chine
 se interpreter\, working with pro bono attorneys for the San Francisco Bar
  Association's Volunteer Legal Outreach\, and as a community organizer for
  San Francisco SAFE and the Community Youth Center. In 2006\, she was recr
 uited by then-Supervisor Sophie Maxwell to serve as a legislative aide and
  later served as a public safety and communications aide and liaison to th
 e Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community for then-District A
 ttorney Kamala Harris. Connie also served as a legislative aide to then-Su
 pervisor Aaron Peskin and as a representative of then-Assemblymember Kevin
  Mullin. In addition to her local and state level policy work\, Supervisor
  Chan has held roles in administration at the San Francisco Recreation & P
 arks Department and at City College of San Francisco. Supervisor Chan has 
 served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors since 2021 and as Budget 
 Chair since 2023. She represents District 1\, including the Inner Richmond
 \, Central Richmond\, Outer Richmond\, Lone Mountain\, Golden Gate Park\, 
 Lincoln Park\, University of San Francisco\, Sea Cliff\, and Presidio Terr
 ace. She has worked to protect critical health and food security programs 
 against Trump cuts\, advocated for small businesses\, supported the creati
 on of affordable senior housing. and provided legal support and services t
 o our immigrant community. Supervisor Connie Chan lives in the Richmond Di
 strict with her partner\, Ed\, a San Francisco fire fighter\, and their so
