DESCRIPTION:Our January DEI Film Festival movie is The Long Walk Home. This
  powerful drama follows two women in Montgomery\, Alabama during the 1955
 –56 Bus Boycott\, one Black and one white\, whose lives become intertwin
 ed during one of the most pivotal moments of the Civil Rights Movement. Th
 rough their personal choices and growing courage\, the film highlights the
  impact of ordinary citizens who stood up for justice and equality. Starri
 ng Whoopi Goldberg and Sissy Spacek\, The Long Walk Home offers a thoughtf
 ul look at how the boycott challenged social norms\, reshaped relationship
 s\, and helped spark nationwide change. The movie provides an ideal lead-i
 n to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and reminds us of the collective strength 
 that drives social progress. Following the screening\, we will host a grou
 p discussion over wine\, snacks\, and pizza. This is a great opportunity t
 o reflect on the themes of the film and the continued relevance of the Civ
 il Rights Movement today. The Long Walk Home is rated PG. This event is s
