DESCRIPTION:John Rothmann returns to speak to our Club at the same time as 
 the 2024 Republican National Convention is being held in Milwaukee\, Wisco
 nsin. He will share his observations and thoughts about the events at the 
 Convention. As always\, John will welcome questions from the audience.  
  John is a KGO 810 radio talk show host and political commentator. A frequ
 ent lecturer on American politics and the presidency\, Rothmann has also b
 een involved in a broad variety of political campaigns on the national\, s
 tate and local levels. In his book Thomas E. Dewey and the Making of the M
 odern Republican Party\, presidential scholar Richard Norton Smith calls R
 othmann "a scholar of modern Republicanism". Historian Roger Morris in his
  biography\, Richard Millhous Nixon-The Rise of An American Politician\, a
 cknowledges Rothmann "for his unique insights\, and in particular for rare
  and crucial materials ..."  John has been on the faculty of the Fromm In
 stitute at the University of San Francisco since 2004. Rothmann is the co-
 author of Icon of Evil: Hitler's Mufti and the Rise of Radical Islam and H
 arold E. Stassen: The Life and Perennial Candidacy of the Progressive Repu
 blican. He was a consultant on the published books\, The Jews in America\,
  A Day in the Life of Israel\, and Jerusalem: In the Shadow of Heaven. Hi
 s personal library of 15\,000 volumes is widely recognized as one of the f
 inest libraries of American political history and biography in the United 
 States. This is a regular membership meeting of the Rotary Club of San Fra
 ncisco\, open to all Rotarians\, visiting Rotarians\, prospective members\
