Serving our Community at the SF Marin Food Bank
It was another fine community service day. Dan Davies, John Dean, Susan Dean, Bob Hermann, Alisha Marfatia, Maureen O'Shea, and Christopher Wiseman of the Rotary Club of San Francisco each spent 2.5 hours at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank on Saturday, January 29, 2022. They were joined by other groups to pack 616 boxes of food onto four completely full pallets, totaling over 20,000 pounds of food. Just imagine the nourishing food of fruits and vegetables to be distributed to the thousands of needy in our communities.

REMINDER: 2022 Super Bowl Pool and Potluck

Super Bowl LVI will be played on February 13, 2022. Our Club is holding its annual Super Bowl Pool and Social on this date, and you are invited. 

The Super Bowl Pool is our Club’s annual drive to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International (TRF) and the San Francisco Rotary Foundation (SFRF). Rotary's mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Every Rotarian around the world is asked to donate to TRF every year. Super Bowl Pool winners receive a Paul Harris Fellowship.

President Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group) kicked off the Zoom-only meeting at 12:15 PM, wishing everyone a 恭禧發財 Gung Hay Fat Choy in celebration of Chinese New Year. It’s the Year of the Tiger!

Today's visiting Rotarians were Ozan Yasavur, a Rotarian from Turkey who is planning to join our Club soon; Salvador Farfán, a Rotarian from Washington, DC; and Assistant Governor Liz Mark from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown. Cynthia Yee was President Mary's special guest.

SERVICE PROJECT February 7, 2022: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month. Registration for this event has closed.

Super Bowl Potluck and Donor Appreciation Party: February 13, 2022
Join your fellow Rotarians, guests, and prospective members on Super Bowl Sunday for fun and fellowship as we watch the game together and enjoy great food. This is a family-friendly event. Winners of the Club Super Bowl Pool will be celebrated at the end of each quarter. In addition to watching football, we will also celebrate and show appreciation to the donors of our Club's 50/50 Campaign.
