Emergency Services Day has been one of our Club’s signature events for 39 years. It is our opportunity to honor the San Francisco Police Department, the San Francisco Fire Department, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, and the Coast Guard and thank them for their dedication and service in our City.

President Frank Yoke called the meeting via Zoom to order at 5:21 p.m. on February 24, 2026. Secretary Dora Dye recorded the minutes. In attendance were the following Trustees: Gary Dales, Ann Daugherty, Dora Dye, Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, Margaret Miley, Maureen O’Shea, Sunny Singh, Hana Xu Wang, and President Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Stephen Geisheker, Stellie Kim, Wendy Shew, Darlene Wilson, and Ozan Yasavur.
Approval of November 2025 Service Board Minutes
The Trustees approved the November 18, 2025 meeting minutes.
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Gary Dales delivered an overview of the fiscal activity to date and explained some of the special reports. He presented the Balance Sheet, the receivables, and the Statement of Activity through January 31, 2026 for Rotary Service, Inc. The Trustees then approved the Treasurer’s Report as presented.
23 Members of our Club attended the District 5150 Assembly on March 21, 2026. Look for a story on the District Assembly highlights in the next issue of Grindings.
You are invited to submit stories for publication in Grindings. We are especially interested in stories on recent Rotary events that you have attended. The deadline is every Thursday at 5 PM, and this is a hard deadline so that I can get the issue of Grindings done in time for release on Sunday. If you miss the Thursday deadline, your story will appear in the following Sunday's issue or a future issue.
Join us for our Club's next BUSINESS NETWORKING meeting where we will have dinner and enjoy an evening of productive and fun networking. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at DACHA Kitchen & Bar. Dedicated to social justice, humanitarian aid, and increasing access to resources and opportunity for others, Club Member Jessica Hansen will speak on her recent and upcoming Women Changing The World awards, her contributon of a chapter to the recently published book Begin It Now, and what’s next with Alliance for Smiles.
Join members of our Club for a night of bowling and socializing. $25 per person includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, and pizza. There are only 12 tickets for this event; buy your ticket today.
Stephen DeLay, vice president and regional executive for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, will talk about the Federal Reserve's role in fighting inflation and maintaining full employment.
Interested in leading a team at the Bike Build? Attend a training session led by Matt Dove of Ybike to learn how the Retrospec Chatham bike is built. Matt will lead the quality control of all bikes produced at the Bike Build.
Join us at one or both shifts to work with the students in the Salvation Army Culinary Academy at the Central Kitchen to prepare food and box lunches for the Bike Build. Each day requires a three-hour shift and up to five volunteers.
Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's. Please register yourself and your guests so that we can plan the space.
Come and enjoy the fun at our 16th Annual Bike Build event! We'll be assembling 130 brand new bikes for distribution to kids in Kindergarten through 4th grade in the Bayview Area of San Francisco. Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, partner organizations, friends, and family are all welcome.
On Emergency Services Day, the Rotary Club of San Francisco honors the outstanding men and women who keep our City safe — the heroes of the Fire Department, Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, Coast Guard, and Paramedics. Come and be moved by their incredible stories, show your appreciation for our local heroes, and enjoy a delightful evening as you mingle with some of San Francisco's finest. This is one of the most anticipated events of the Rotary year — don't miss out!

Attendees will be able to get better acquainted with each other as well as with a few Club leaders and longer-term members. The evening promises to be fun and informative.
