Enjoy the movie Loving, the story of the couple whose arrest in Virginia began a legal battle that led to the Supreme Court's historic 1967 decision legalizing interracial marriage. The screening begins at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 17 in the Community Room at Rotary Terrace, 312 Miller Avenue, South San Francisco.
Loving is presented by our Club's DEI Committee as part of the DEI Film Festival.
Ruth Negga was nominated for the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Mildred Loving.
In his review, Roger Ebert wrote, “One appreciates a story well-told and having been allowed a brief, believable window into the lives of Richard and Mildred Loving, two people who changed the country just by falling in love.” Loving is rated PG.
All members, prospective members, their friends, and family are invited to attend. Tickets are $10 per person and include the movie and refreshments.
Parking: There is a parking garage located across from Rotary Terrace. Additionally, street parking is available free of charge on Sundays. However, please refrain from parking in the Rotary Terrace garage if the door is open, as it is exclusively reserved for their residents.
