Dr. Salvador AcevesAt a time when higher educational institutions are being asked to respond to the public’s question about the value of a college degree, USF President Salvador D. Aceves will reflect on the enduring value of a values-based, Jesuit Catholic education in today’s complex and rapidly changing world. He will explore how the Catholic intellectual tradition calls educators to educate the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — while grounding learning in a deep commitment to human dignity, ethical responsibility, and the common good.

Salvador D. Aceves, Ed.D., is the 29th President of the University of San Francisco (USF). He is the university's first lay president and first Latino president. Born and raised in San Francisco, Dr. Aceves is the son of immigrants and a proud first-generation college graduate. He graduated from USF where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the School of Management in 1983 and his doctoral degree in Education in 1995. He also holds a master's degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Dr. Aceves previously served as president of Regis University and earlier held several roles, including chief planning and budget officer, associate professor, and tax associate.
