Woody LaBounty will share his perspective on San Francisco history, talk about the various neighborhoods, and opine on where San Francisco is today.
Woody is president and CEO of San Francisco Heritage, a 52-year-old nonprofit organization with a mission to preserve and enhance San Francisco’s unique architectural and cultural heritage. Before joining Heritage, he was the longtime executive director of the local history organization, Western Neighborhoods Project. There, he led efforts to save relief cottages built after the 1906 earthquake, scan and post more than 50,000 historical images online (OpenSFHistory.org), and produce the annual San Francisco History Days weekend at the Old Mint. Woody is the author of two books on San Francisco history and writes weekly on the subject at SanFranciscoStory.com.
Woody will present a perspective on San Francisco history, talk about the various neighborhoods, perhaps his favorite, and opine on where San Francisco is today.
