J.T. Warring has been a Rotarian for more than 40 years. He recently served, by direct appointment of three RI Presidents, as Special Representative of the RI Board of Directors to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. He worked with Myanmar’s then harsh military dictatorship to secure required official government permission for Rotary to establish fully-functioning clubs in that country. J.T. and his local allies launched the Rotary Club of Yangon in 2013. Still the only service organization of its kind in Myanmar, the Yangon Club has more than 60 members.

J.T. led a team of videographers working for Rotary to document the dire aftermath of the 2004 tsunami in east and south Asia. And, at the request of his friend Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, has worked with at Rotary Project Team that has constructed 42 Rotary-proprietary water management systems, with six more scheduled for 2016. Discussions are already underway with Rotary to expand the Project in coming years.

J.T. is concurrently participating in other RI-Presidential initiatives which he may discuss with us briefly on January 19.

Retired now from business, he was a Founding Equity Partner, then a Vice-President of Korn/Ferry International global consultancy, then founded and led two successful smaller consulting firms bearing his name, serving multi- national clients in the insurance and financial-services realm. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles, "LA 5".
