Robert Heller chronicles his fascinating journey from the caves and cellars of war-ravaged Germany to the United States and his eventual rise to be a Governor of the Federal Reserve Board and President and CEO of VISA U.S.A.
Accompanied by never-ending disasters, his illustrious career takes him through academia, business and government service as he witnesses the collapse of the international monetary system, the near failure of Bank of America and the most monumental banking crisis in U.S. history.
After obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, Mr. Heller began his career as a Professor of Economics at UCLA. He then served as Chief of the Financial Studies Division of the International Monetary Fund and as Senior Vice President and Director of International Economic Research at Bank of America. The President appointed him as a Governor of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington. Subsequently, he served as President and CEO of Visa U.S.A. Mr. Heller now serves on the board of directors of several public and private corporations and he appears regularly on CNBC. He is also a Staff Commodore of the San Francisco Yacht Club.
