Our Club completed two community service projects in August 2023. The first project was on August 26, 2023 when two members of our Club (Emily Borland and Victoria Lozano), two Visiting Rotarians, two non-Rotarians, and one RYLA alumna assembled and packaged food for distribution at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Emily even brought her older son for the experience. In 2.5 hours, this group of eight packed 1,100 bags of produce that equaled 26,400 pounds.

 

Then, on August 30, 2023, 10 volunteers (Rhonda Poppen, Robin Azevedo, Lisa Stark, Hana Xu Wang, Carrie Schucker, Jim Patrick, Bill Gregory, Jo Patrick and two friends) assembled diaper bags to give away to homeless or housing insecure families in San Francisco and stuffed invitations to the Homeless Prenatal Program's Annual Luncheon.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office's mission is to broaden Hong Kong's economic relations with the 19 western states, by enhancing free trade policy and its two-way platform for overseas companies to access the China market and for Chinese companies to go global. Director Jacko Tsang will join us to present an overview of Hong Kong's advantages and latest initiatives in selected areas.

Our Club’s DEI Committee is pleased to present the screening of Loving. This film is rated PG and based on the true story of a couple whose arrest in Virginia began a legal battle that led to the U.S. Supreme Court's historic 1967 decision legalizing interracial marriage. This event is open to members, prospective members, their friends, and family. 

 

Rodney A. Fong, President and CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, will provide a San Francisco Business Update and discuss downtown revitalization.
