ROTARY LUNCHEON: Rodney Fong and a San Francisco Business Update

Rodney Fong will provide a San Francisco Business Update and discuss downtown revitalization.

Rodney Fong is the President and CEO at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. He is a fourth generation San Franciscan with an extensive business and civic background, including serving on the San Francisco Planning Commission for eight years (two years as President). He currently serves on the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and the Goodwill San Francisco Bay Board of Directors. Rodney served as the co-chair of San Francisco's COVID-19 Economic Recovery Task Force. He also served as President of the San Francisco Port Commission, Chair of the San Francisco Travel Association and on the boards of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Fort Mason Center, Fisherman’s Wharf Merchant’s Association, Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District, Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation, and the Bay Institute. 

As the president of Fong Real Estate Company, Mr. Fong oversees leasing and tenant concerns for properties including the 100,000-square foot Wax Museum Entertainment Complex building in the heart of historic Fisherman’s Wharf as well as Broadway Apartments. He also served as a third-generation operator/owner of the world-famous Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf until its sale in 2013.

For in-person attendees: The cost for in-person registration (including children) is $45 if you register early until 11:59 AM on Friday, September 15, 2023. When the clock strikes noon on Friday, September 15, 2023, the price will go up to $60. If you show up at the door on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 as a walk-in, you will be charged $60. Please note that once Past President Mary Liu provides the headcount to the Hotel Nikko on the Friday before our Tuesday meeting, we will be billed for that count regardless of whether you show or not. 

For attendance via Zoom: For those who wish to participate via Zoom, there is a $10 fee to attend.

Parking: If you are driving to the Hotel Nikko for this meeting, please leave your car with the Hotel Nikko valet. Pick up a validation sticker available at our check-in table. The discounted parking is $17.50 for three hours.
