
Rotary Club of San Francisco
The Rotary Club of San Francisco Board of Directors met on April 22, 2025 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 4:02 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
In attendance were Gary Dales, Stephen Geisheker, Nancy Graydon, President Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, Bridget Mahoney, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Todd St Vrain, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Dan Davies and Sunny Singh. Our guest was Executive Secretary Dora Dye.

The Board reviewed and approved the March 25, 2025 minutes as presented.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial reports and noted that the Club continues to be in a strong financial position with net assets of $95,316 and $105,813 in cash. Gary noted that only three members have not made payment toward 2024-2025 membership dues. The Club has a surplus of $32,041 and is approximately $13,000 ahead of budget. The Board unanimously approved the Treasurer's Report as presented.
Committee Reports
- Club Services: Ozan Yasavur gave an update on moving our Club's belongings to the storage unit and on training incoming Vice President of Club Services Ann Daugherty how to manage meeting registration.
- Community Service: Darlene Wilson reported on the April 16, 2025 Service Project at Family House where volunteers prepared and served a meal and provided fun to 120 parents and children. She invited all to help with the Homeless Prenatal Program baby showers on June 18, 2025 and at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank on June 28, 2025.
- Development: Maureen O'Shea shared plans to hold a calling party to thank members for their generous support.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Tim Hornbecker highlighted recent events and added that our Club would participate in San Francisco Pride through a sponsorship and participation in the parade with other District 5150 Rotarians.
- International Service: Stephen Geisheker talked about the number of international grant requests. While most of them would be funded, a few requests would have to be postponed.
- Membership: Margaret Miley announced that there were a few membership applications pending and that there would be a Discover Rotary event in July 2025.
- Vocational Service: Bridget Mahoney discussed the plan to hold another vocational event before the end of the current Rotary year.
- Youth Services: Todd St Vrain announced that 375 camper applications for the 2025 RYLA Camp had been received to date. 21 Facilitators had been successfully recruited, but he still needed 11 more. Todd announced that Visitor's Day would be on July 31 and would include a mandatory orientation on youth protection.
Other Business
President-Elect Frank Yoke acknowledged the hard work by the Grants Review Committee and shared that the recommendations would soon be emailed to the Board.
PE Frank announced that Mitone Griffiths would conduct her District Governor Visit to our Club on July 8, 2025.
President-Elect Nominee Ozan Yasavur talked about the two events that he is hosting on June 10 and June 14 to celebrate President Bob Hermann.

The Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. met on April 22, 2025 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 5 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
In attendance were Gary Dales, Stephen Geisheker, Nancy Graydon, President Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, Bridget Mahoney, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Todd St Vrain, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. The Trustees reviewed and approved the March 25, 2025 Service, Inc. minutes.
Financial Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial report and noted revenue of $259,074 and expenses of $241,721 at the end of March 2025.

- Revenue included $19,500 in grants from the San Francisco Rotary Foundation for the Bike Build and the DEI Film Festival; $3,850 donated for RYLA by the Rotary Club of Foster City and the Rotary Club of West Marin; and $3,500 from the John Mathers Memorial Climate Fund.
- After expenses totaling $34,046, Rotary Service, Inc. was left with a deficit of $6,651 in the month of March. The expenses included $5,410 and $5,335 paid to the San Francisco Rotary Foundation and The Rotary Foundation respectively; $3,500 for the San Francisco State Climate Study Scholarships; $19,000 to Northcliff Rotary Club in Africa for the Study Buddy Program (aka the Tutu desk); and transaction fees.
- Year to date, there is a surplus of $17,353.
- Gary added that the bikes for the upcoming Bike Build had not been paid for yet.
The Trustees then approved the financial report as presented by Treasurer Gary Dales.
Other Business
President Bob provided an update on the Bylaws for Club Service to include language on the use of wire and electronic payments. Recommendations will be presented to the Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. for review and approval before the end of President Bob's term.
