Rotary Club of San Francisco
President Frank Yoke called the meeting via Zoom to order at 4:09 p.m. on April 28, 2026. Secretary Dora Dye recorded the minutes. In attendance were Gary Dales, Ann Daugherty, Dora Dye, Stephen Geisheker, Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, Margaret Miley, Maureen O’Shea, Ozan Yasavur, and President Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Our guest was Sunny Singh. Absent were Stellie Kim, Wendy Shew, Hana Xu Wang, and Darlene Wilson.
Approval of Board Minutes
The Board approved with one abstention the March 24, 2026 meeting minutes.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the Balance Sheet, the outstanding dues to date, and the Statement of Operations through March 31, 2026 for the Rotary Club of San Francisco. President Frank is still pursuing all outstanding dues. The Board then approved with one abstention the April 2026 Treasurer’s Report as presented. .
Partnership with San Francisco Chamber of Commerce
Sunny Singh talked about the new member orientation for the members of our Club who are joining the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. He also discussed the plan to induct the members from the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce who will be joining our Club.
Dora Dye asked for a link to the newsletter of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce to share their activities with our Club via Grindings.
District 5150 Celebration
President Frank encouraged all to attend the District Celebration on May 2, 2026.
Membership
- The Board approved Catherine Bassick, Stefan Haller, and Timothy Tucker for individual membership.
- The Board also approved Saul Ponce de Leon for membership through our partnership with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
Joint Meeting with the Rotary Club of Oakland
President Frank shared details of the Joint Meeting with the Rotary Club of Oakland on May 21, 2026.
2026 Bike Build and Emergency Services Day
The Board discussed both events and recognized the members who led them.
Rotary Global Scholar Application
The Board reviewed the application of a candidate for Rotary Global Scholar. No decision was made.
Rotary Club Partnership
The Board considered a proposal from a Rotary Club in Italy. No decision was made.
Report from President-Elect
President-Elect Ozan Yasavur gave an update on the grants process and announced that the Board Retreat was scheduled for June 6, 2026.

Changes to the Bylaws of Rotary Service, Inc.
Trustee Gary Dales reminded the Trustees of his presentation at the March 24, 2026 Board meeting, describing the work of the Bylaws Committee to update the Bylaws of Rotary Service, Inc. and explaining how the proposed changes would clarify the role and function of Rotary Service, Inc. The Trustees approved the Bylaw changes on April 28, 2026. Dora Dye agreed to post the revised Bylaws on www.sfrotary.org
