On Thursday, August 14, 2025, our Rotary Club held its quarterly Discover Rotary meeting at the lovely home of Vice President of Membership Margaret Miley. Guests enjoyed a relaxing evening with delicious food and beverages while making new connections.

The mix of attendees reflected the spirit of Rotary: three visitors exploring Rotary for the first time, four new members inducted this year, two members who joined in 2024, and several long-experienced Rotarians. Together, they created a lively atmosphere for fellowship and discovery.

Breakout sessions gave participants a chance to learn about Rotary’s history and the Rotary Club of San Francisco’s signature projects, such as the Bike Build, Emergency Services Day, the Homeless Prenatal Program, Alliance for Smiles medical missions, and Rotaplast medical missions. Guests also shared what inspired them to attend and what they hope to discover through Rotary.

This event was also the first to carry the name Discover Rotary, previously known as Welcome to the Club. The new name highlights the true purpose of these gatherings: opening doors for guests and newer members to explore Rotary’s history, projects, and fellowship.

The evening showed the energy that comes when fresh perspectives meet seasoned experience. Our next Discover Rotary will be held in November — and we encourage every member to bring a guest. In the meantime, please invite friends, colleagues, and neighbors to join us at our weekly meetings, social gatherings, and service projects. These introductions are the lifeblood of our Club and the best way to share the joy and purpose of Rotary.
