Welcome to Our Guests
Our guests this evening were Erik Greenfrost, Daniel Lesavoy, Carlos Meraz, Nicholas Meza, and a few walk-ins. Welcome!
MLK Day Celebration
President Frank asked us to take a moment to remember and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He began with this quote from Dr. King: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Next, President Frank showed highlights from the famous I Have a Dream speech.
Update on International Service Projects
- Digitalization of rural and tribal girls schools in India: In December 2025, our Club raised $3,500 to transform the lives of tribal welfare girls in rural India through education. This project came about through Bobba Venkatadri, currently the TRF Chair of the Rotary Club of Burlingame Hillsborough. Bobba has made it "his mission to help transform the lives of children with disadvantages in his native India by equipping them with 21st-century digital learning tools." You can read the full story entitled Dream Girls in the November 2025 issue of Rotary magazine. This evening, President Frank shared an update on this project.
- Ukraine: In November 2025, President Frank issued a call to bring joy and support to children in the Ukraine during the holiday season. Our Club raised $1,500, but the funds were blocked and not allowed to reach the recipients until recently.
