As the leader this year of the Grants Review Committee, I am excited to announce that the 2024 Grants Cycle will open on Thursday, February 1, 2024. This earlier opening will allow our Club's Committees more time to seek grants from Club members in good standing.

This year the final date for any/all grant submissions will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 to allow ample time for the following reviews: the actual Committees (March/April), the Grants Review Committee (April/May), the Rotary Club Board (April/May), and finally, the Foundation Board for budgetary approval (June).

To apply for a grant, here are the requirements:

1. Read the information on our grants page.
2. Complete this application.
3. Toward the end of your grant period, complete the Final Report. The Final Report is required for all grants received within the current fiscal period.

Should your project not yet be completed, then file an Interim Report which will demonstrate the spending for your project, the goals you expect to fulfill, and Rotarian involvement.

Failure to submit a final or interim report will prevent any new grant application from going forward unless you have applied with the San Francisco Rotary Foundation for an Extension.

Questions about service projects and the grant process should be directed to the appropriate service Vice President, the Club President or President-elect, or the President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation. Click here for Contact List.

Over the years, our Club has built a strong Foundation. Through gifts and endowments, the funds have accumulated significantly. By policy, there is a 4% distribution which enables the funding of Club projects. You can contribute by gift to the 50/50 campaign, that is split between the San Francisco Rotary Foundation and The Rotary Foundation. Or you can make a gift directly or through a codicil in your Will or Trust.

The San Francisco Rotary Foundation is responsible for managing and growing this endowment which is used to underwrite the charitable works of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. The charitable works begin in the form of a financial grant from the Foundation. The recipients and grant amounts reflect the Foundation Board’s decisions based on available funds, factors related to the grant application, Committee recommendations, and prior history. For the Rotary year 2023-2034, the San Francisco Rotary Foundation was able to fund a total of 25 grants for a total of $220k inclusive of over $20k in Designated District Funding.
