Welcome to the 2023 Holiday Party
Following the reception and wine auction, President Sunny Singh (Financial Services: Advising | PK Wealth Management) kicked off the Holiday Party. He shared what the holidays meant to him and asked others to share as well.
Supporting the Ukraine: Next, President Sunny discussed how our Club came together and raised $10,000 in just one month. Allan Herzog (Financial Services: Advising | Wells Fargo Advisors) matched the $10,000 and made an additional $5,000 commitment to support this important project, raising our total to $25,000 for the Ukraine. Thank you, Allan!
Membership: In the area of membership, our Club gained eight new members since July 1, 2023.
Comments from DG Laine: District Governor Laine Hendricks (Public Relations and Marketing | County of Marin) expressed how proud she is of her home Club. 
Visiting Rotarians and Guests
President Sunny introduced and recognized Past District Governor (PDG) Bill Koefoed and his wife Betsy Koefoed, PDG Chris Gallagher, PDG Peter Lagarias (Law: Franchise | Lagarias, Napell & Dillon), PDG Eric Schmautz (Banking: Management | Retired), Assistant Governor David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired), and Assistant Governor JT Forbus (Accounting | Bogdan & Frasco).
After celebrating all of the Club's past presidents in attendance, the attendees sang Happy Birthday to Past President John Hoch (Financial Services: Advising | Retired).
Other Visiting Rotarians were Frank Goodyear from the Rotary Club of San Rafael Evening, Karen Schmautz from the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach in Florida, and Melissa Rinne from the Rotary Club of Kyoto East. President Sunny did a flag exchange with Melissa.
Rotarian of the Month
President Sunny announced with great pleasure that Anita Stangl (Medical Services | Alliance for Smiles) is the Rotarian of the Month for December 2023. Anita continues to jump in whenever and wherever needed in our Club.
Toy Drive
President Sunny thanked everyone for bringing toys and welcomed the recipients of the donated toys. In attendance were CEO Katherine Thompson and Chief Community Engagement Officer Karen Banks of Family House. President Sunny also thanked Immediate Past President Christopher Wiseman (Nonprofit Management | Glaucoma Research Foundation) for introducing our Club to Family House that provides housing and emotional support to children and their families undergoing treatment at UCSF.

The Holiday Party concluded with various door prizes, a raffle drawing, and announcement of the costume contest winners. Dessert was served in the Peninsula Room.
Annual Meeting
The 2023 Annual Meeting of the Rotary Club of San Francisco was called to order by President Sunny Singh at 12:42 p.m. Club Secretary Nancy Graydon (Development | Glaucoma Research Foundation) confirmed that proper notice had been given to the membership and a quorum was present to conduct business at this meeting.

President Sunny explained that in accordance with the Club's Bylaws, a Nominating Committee was established to identify the slate of candidates for open board positions for 2024-2025. The following individuals were selected:
2024-25 President: Bob Hermann
2024-25 President-Elect: Frank Yoke
2024-26 Vice President of Development: Maureen O’Shea
2024-26 Vice President of International Service: Anita Stangl
2024-26 Vice President of Membership: Margaret Miley
2024-26 Vice President of Community Service: Darlene Wilson
2024-26 Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Tim Hornbecker
Allan Herzog made the motion to adopt the nominations put forth by the Nominating Committee for open board positions for 2024-2025. District Governor Laine Hendricks seconded the motion. The motion was passed by all attendees present.

Sunny invited the 2023-2024 Board members to the front of the room for recognition and a photo op. With no further business, the Annual Meeting was adjourned at 12:51 p.m.
President Sunny congratulated Bob Hermann, Frank Yoke, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Anita Stangl, Tim Hornbecker, and Darlene Wilson (Nonprofit Administration | Catholic Charities SF).

  • Merve Yasavur (Information Technology: Computer Science | Self-employed) and Carrie Schucker (Psychology | Retired) for managing the photo booth; 
  • Jessica Hansen (Nonprofit Management | Alliance for Smiles), Paul Vazquez (Nonprofit Administration | Alliance for Smiles), Donna Duensing (Education: Seminary | Retired), and Mary Liu for handling the auction checkout.
  • Christopher Wiseman, Mary Liu, Paul Vazquez, and Nicholas Wong for managing the wine auction.
  • Stephanie Schmautz (Elder Care and Senior Services | The Carlisle), Ann Daugherty (Financial Services: Private Trading | IBN Financial Services) and Bridget Mahoney (Nonprofit Administration | Catholic Charities SF) for managing the raffle ticket sales;
  • Ozan Yasavur (Engineering: Mechanical | Bioforcetech Corporation), Maureen O'Shea (Governmental Relations | Retired), Frank Yoke (Development | Frank Yoke Consulting), Tim Hornbecker(Nonprofit Management | Retired, The Arc CA), Clifford Phillips (The Arc San Francisco), and Anita Stangl for serving as greeters;

President Sunny thanked Mary Liu, JT Forbus, Stephanie Schmautz, Bob Hermann, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Frank Yoke, Nancy Graydon, Emily Borland (Engineering, Architecture, and Construction | Emily Borland Specifications), Christopher Wiseman, Ozan Yasavur, Scott Plakun  (Management Consulting | The Plakun Group), and Todd St Vrain (Education: Administration | University of Melbourne) for an outstanding Rotary year so far.
