June is Rotary Fellowships Month
This month Rotarians all over the world are invited to celebrate international goodwill and diverse friendships built through shared interests, hobbies, and vocations. Some of the Fellowships will meet at the Rotary International Convention later this month in Taipei, Taiwan.

President Frank announced that Major Matthew Madsen (Nonprofit Management | The Salvation Army), his wife — Major Dianne Madsen — and their family are moving out of the Bay Area to their next assignment for the Salvation Army. We thanked them for their service in our Club and in our community and wish them well.

Rotarian of the Month
Congratulations to Emily Borland (Engineering, Architecture, and Construction | Emily Borland Specifications) who was honored as Rotarian of the Month for May 2026 and praised for chairing and executing an outstanding Bike Build in April 2026. Emily has been a member of our Club since December 2008 and served as Vice President of Community Services in 2022-2024. Work and family keep Emily very busy, but she always finds time for Rotary.

New Members Inducted
Dan Joraanstad (Financial Services: Advising | Retired) joined President Frank to induct Catherine Bassick (Real Estate Advisor | Bassick Advisors Trust and Estates at Douglas Elliman Real Estate) and Stefan Haller (Physician: Radiology | Life Matters International). Catherine was a member of the Rotary Club of Weston-Wayland in Massachusetts and is "interested in being involved in projects that have a tangible and lasting impact on the San Francisco community, particularly those focused on housing stability, community revitalization, and expanding access to opportunity." Stefan is new to Rotary and is interested in "charitable projects supporting development of a future with less human suffering and death." Rotarians in today's audience pledged to support Catherine Bassick and Dr. Stefan Haller on their Rotary journey with our Club. Please welcome Catherine and Stefan when you see them at our meetings and events.

Lisa Stark (Communications & Media) introduced today's speaker — Brian Watt who is KQED's morning radio news anchor. Brian discussed delivering the news and how this delivery might be 10 years from now. President Frank thanked Brian Watt and announced that 100 children would be inoculated against polio in Brian Watt's name.
