President Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group) called the meeting to order at 12:15 PM and welcomed everyone to the second oldest Rotary club in the world. This is our Club's 113th year. 
 
Visiting Rotarians and Special Guests
Today's Visiting Rotarians were Past District 5150 Governor Jayne Hulbert and Rotarian Gene Duffy (PDG Jayne's husband). Also in attendance were Jatinderpal Kaur Sahi, CEO of RotaCare Bay Area; Armando Zumaya from Catholic Charities; Clifford Phillips from The Arc San Francisco; Dorian Luey and Meshtli Villalta from the University of San Francisco; Hamid Ansari from Roots of Peace; and Victoria Cooper.

REMINDERS: There will be no luncheon meeting on Tuesday, November 23 AND Tuesday, November 30.

What Has Been Happening in Our Club
Bob Hermann, Dan Joraanstad, and Lance Scott at The Arc SFLarry Booth and Andrew Booth delivering meals for The Arc SFMeal Deliveries for The Arc SF: President Mary thanked Club members who delivered for The Arc San Francisco on November 15, 2021. Participating were Larry Booth (Engineering: Mechanical | Frank M. Booth, Inc.) and his son Andrew, Bob Hermann (Information Technology: Administration | Retired UCSF), Dan Joraanstad (Financial Services: Advising | Retired), and Christopher Davies (Real Estate: Property Management | Self-employed). Lance Scott (Nonprofit Administration | The Arc San Francisco) coordinated these deliveries. 
 
Treasurer's Report and Agenda Items for Annual Meeting: Treasurer Gary Dales (Accounting | Fly Leasing) spoke on the Club's financial status and noted that we are in good financial shape. He announced that bylaw changes are forthcoming in an effort to streamline processes and encouraged members to attend the Annual Meeting on December 14, 2021 to vote on these changes as well as for the incoming Board candidates. One third of the membership must be present at this Meeting to achieve quorum. 

50/50 Campaign: Vice President of Development Miranti Ojong (Financial Services: Advising | Team Armada) recognized our Club's new TRF Chair, Jim Patrick (Retail: Office Supplies | Patrick & Co.). She announced that thus far, $70,255 had been raised in cash donations for the 50/50 Campaign with an additional $16,649 in pledges. She thanked Dan Joraanstad, President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, for his help with the Campaign and said that we are on track to meet the $100,000 goal. 
 
Dan Joraanstad, Bob Hermann, and PDG Jayne HulbertMajor Donor Recognition: PDG Jayne Hulbert, The Rotary Foundation Chair for Rotary District 5150, presented a crystal to Bob Hermann and Dan Joraanstad for reaching Major Donor Level Four (giving $100,000+ to The Rotary Foundation). PDG Jayne also acknowledged and lauded the generous spirit of our entire Club for gifts totaling $2.3 million to date. 
 
Welcome: Barbara Streett (Nonprofit Administration | The Arc San Francisco) welcomed Clifford Phillips as a recipient of the services from The Arc SF. Clifford thanked our Club for all the support we provide to The Arc. He will be inducted as a new member in our Club in 2022 as part of The Arc’s corporate membership.
 
Colant Scholars: Kevin Leong (Development | University of San Francisco) introduced two Colant Scholarship recipients, Dorian Luey and Meshtli Villalta, who thanked the Club and spoke on the importance of this funding to advance their graduate studies. The Colant Scholarship was established by Ernest and Scharleen Colant, who were members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. This scholarship is awarded to an incoming full-time, part-time, or Executive MBA student that graduated from a San Francisco high school and is employed by an academic institution or not-for-profit organization. Once selected, scholarship recipient(s) are required to attend a meeting of our Club and provide future updates of their studies.
 
Mary Liu and Robin AzevedoRotarian of the Month
President Mary recognized Robin Azevedo (Retail: Mattresses | McRoskey Mattress Company) as the Rotarian of the Month for November 2021. Mary spoke on Robin’s work with the San Francisco Rotary Foundation Board and Robin's participation in various service projects. Attendees sang “Happy Birthday” to Robin. This must have been Robin's day as she was also the lucky winner of today's raffle prize - champagne donated by Maureen O’Shea (Governmental Relations | Retired).
 
President Mary presented the pin to last month's Rotarian of the Month - Dan Davies (Information Technology: Consulting | North American Lighting) - who was unable to attend in person when awarded this recognition. Dan was happy to receive his pin and applause today in person.
 
A Day of Thanks
Today's meeting was an opportunity to spend time with each other reflecting on events, projects, or people that have made us thankful during such an extraordinary year. Each attendee shared what they were grateful for and recognized someone who had made a difference in their life. Many members discussed the importance of Rotary in their lives.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 1:32 p.m.
