Rotarian of the Month
Congratulations to Margaret Miley (Hospitality: Hotels | Retired) who was honored as Rotarian of the Month for September 2026. Margaret joined the Rotary Club of San Francisco in January 2021. She served as our Vice President of Membership from 2022 to 2026, brought in new members, and always helped behind the scenes at events. Margaret also organized many of of our Club's social events. Thank you, Margaret!

Major Donor Recognition
Congratulations to Past President Scott Plakun (Management Consulting | Retired) for achieving Major Donor Level 1. In Rotary District 5150, Scott is currently the Action Plan Champion, the DEI Chair, and the Strategic Plan Champion. Congratulations and thank you, Scott!

Nick Tarlson, a former member of our Club, joined us to speak about the benefits of joining a Rotary Fellowship.

Early Career Pathway Program
Vice President of Vocational Service Janet Beach (Job Recruitment | The Job Forum) led us through The Job Forum's Early Career Pathway Program that connects youth with careers, mentors, training, and opportunity.
Grant Presentation to The Job Forum
Vice President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation Robin Azevedo (Retail: Mattresses | Retired, McRoskey Mattress Company) presented a check in the amount of $4,500 to The Job Forum. Janet Beach accepted the check and thanked our Club and the San Francisco Rotary Foundation for the generous support.

New Members Inducted
Past Vice President of Membership Margaret Miley joined President Ozan to induct and welcome Jenny Feinberg (Administration: Yes SF Initiative | San Francisco Chamber of Commerce) and Saul Ponce de Leon (Sales and Membership | San Francisco Chamber of Commerce). In this partnership program between the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and our Club, five members of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce join our Club, and five members of our Club become members of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. Rotarians in today's audience recited the Four-Way Test and pledged to support Jenny Feinberg and Saul Ponce de Leon on their Rotary journey with our Club. Please welcome Jenny and Saul when you see them at our meetings and events.

Heidi Kühn (Peace Building | Roots of Peace) was recognized for her peace building work in Roots of Peace and now in the Kühn Initiative at the University of California, Berkeley.

Guest Speaker
Larry Booth (Engineering: Mechanical | Retired, Frank M. Booth, Inc.) introduced today's speaker — Del Seymour. Mr. Seymour shared his journey as an African American Vietnam veteran who was chronically homeless and incarcerated for 18 years to his recovery and founding of Code Tenderloin in 2015. Today, Code Tenderloin is funded by the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development, with additional funding from foundations and tech companies such as Dolby, Twitter, and Microsoft. LinkedIn, Uber, and Salesforce provide classroom space and teaching instruction. For his contributions, Del Seymour is nicknamed the “Mayor of the Tenderloin”.
President Ozan thanked Del Seymour and announced that 100 children would be inoculated against polio in Del's name.
