Rotary Club of San Francisco
The Rotary Club of San Francisco Board of Directors met on March 25, 2025 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
 
In attendance were Gary Dales, Dan Davies, Stephen Geisheker, Nancy Graydon, President Bob Hermann, Bridget Mahoney, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Todd St Vrain, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Tim Hornbecker and Sunny Singh. Our guests were Executive Secretary Dora Dye and Christopher Wiseman — President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation.
 
Minutes
The Board reviewed and approved the February 25, 2025 minutes as presented.
 
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial reports and noted that the Club is in a strong financial position with net assets of $98,775 and a cash balance of $107,295. Gary added that our Club is approximately $11,000 ahead of budget from last year due to several factors: a surplus generated from the Holiday Party, lower lunch costs, income from recent Club socials, generous contributions from members, and a grant from District 5150. The Board unanimously approved the Treasurer's Report as presented.
 
Committee Reports
  • Membership: Margaret Miley presented Ruth Wenzel for consideration as a new member. The Board approved Ruth for membership. Margaret also presented Mary Jansen and Michelle Pommier for consideration as new members of our Corporate Member — Catholic Charities. The Board approved Mary and Michelle for corporate membership.
  • Club Services: Ozan Yasavur gave an update on moving our Club's belongings to the storage unit and on training incoming Vice President of Club Services Ann Daugherty how to manage meeting registration.
  • Vocational Service: Bridget Mahoney discussed a plan to hold another vocational event before the end of the current Rotary year.
  • Youth Services: Todd St Vrain announced that 145 camper applications for the 2025 RYLA Camp had been received to date. Completed facilitator applications continue to arrive thanks to a successful engagement with the Rotaract Club at Dominican University.
  • Development: Maureen O'Shea shared plans to hold a telephone thank you party soon and a thank you potluck next Rotary year.
  • Community Service: Darlene Wilson invited all to upcoming community service projects including the Homeless Prenatal Program baby showers on June 18, 2025.
  • International Service: Stephen Geisheker announced that 12 international grant requests will be presented to the Grants Review Committee.
Other Business
  • Club's Bylaws: A recent review of the Club's Bylaws revealed that no changes were needed.
  • Upcoming Events: The 2025 District 5150 Conference will be held on May 15-18, 2025 in Santa Rosa, California. The 2025 Rotary International Convention will be held on June 21-25, 2025 in Calgary, Canada.

The Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. met on March 25, 2025 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 4:45 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes. 
 
In attendance were Gary Dales, Dan Davies, Stephen Geisheker, Nancy Graydon, President Bob Hermann, Bridget Mahoney, Todd St Vrain, Darlene Wilson, Christopher Wiseman, Ozan Yasavur, and Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Tim Hornbecker, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, and Sunny Singh. Our guest was Executive Secretary Dora Dye.

The Trustees reviewed and approved the February 25, 2025 Service, Inc. minutes.
 
Financial Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial report and noted revenue of $232,000 and expenses of $207,674 at the end of February 2025, generating a surplus of $24,005. February's revenue included funds received to support RYLA, Gift of Giving contributions, and proceeds from the Super Bowl Fundraiser. February's expenses were contributions in the amount of $5,890 to the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, contributions in the amount of $7,630 to The Rotary Foundation, and expenses and transaction fees from the Super Bowl Party.
 
The Trustees then approved the financial report as presented by Treasurer Gary Dales.
 
Other Business
The Bylaws for Club Service require updating and addition of language on the use of wire and electronic payments. Recommendations will be presented to the Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. for review and approval.
