Rotary Club of San Francisco
The Rotary Club of San Francisco Board of Directors met on November 19, 2024 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 4:04 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
 
In attendance were Gary Dales, Stephen Geisheker, Tim Hornbecker, Bridget Mahoney, President Bob Hermann, Nancy Graydon, Ozan Yasavur, Todd St Vrain, and President-Elect Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Dan Davies, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Sunny Singh, and Darlene Wilson. Our guests were San Francisco Rotary Foundation President Christopher Wiseman and Executive Secretary Dora Dye.
 
Minutes
The Board reviewed and approved the October 29, 2024 minutes.
 
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial reports and noted that the Club is in a strong financial position with net assets of $116,716 and a cash balance of $97,882. President Bob Hermann stressed the need for Club members to submit receipts for reimbursement. The Board unanimously approved the Treasurer's Report as presented.
 
Nominating Committee
President-Elect Frank Yoke announced that we still needed a candidate for Vice President of Youth Services, and the current Vice President of Services Todd St Vrain offered to contact a candidate.
 
Youth Services
Todd St Vrain reported that the 2025 RYLA dates would be July 28 to August 1 with staff arriving on July 27. The consensus in the RYLA Committee was that 200 campers was not sustainable, but between 160 and 175 campers would be more manageable and financially feasible. To date, Rotary clubs in District 5150 have pledged $38,400 to the 2025 RYLA. In addition, Past President Rhonda Poppen was providing pro bono service to identify external grants to bring in additional funding for RYLA.
 
Rotarian of the Month
The Board selected the next Rotarian of the Month to be announced at an upcoming Club meeting.
 
Club Meeting Update
President Bob discussed the success of the monthly evening meetings. Going forward, the Club will have two lunch meetings at the Hotel Nikko and one evening meeting at MoMo’s. President-Elect Frank would continue this meeting format in his year. 
 
President Bob outlined the new Rotary Revealed events designed to help new members learn about our Club and how the Board works.
 
Committee Reports
The Chairs from the Club Services, DEI, International Services, and Vocational Services Committees gave a report on their Committee's activities to date.

Rotary Service, Inc.
The Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc. met on November 19, 2024 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 5:10 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes. 
 
In attendance were Gary Dales, Stephen Geisheker, Tim Hornbecker, Bridget Mahoney, President Bob Hermann, Nancy Graydon, Ozan Yasavur, Todd St Vrain, President-Elect Frank Yoke, and San Francisco Rotary Foundation President Christopher Wiseman, constituting a quorum. Absent were Dan Davies, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Sunny Singh, and Darlene Wilson.
 
Minutes
The Trustees reviewed and approved the October 29, 2024 Service, Inc. minutes.
 
Financial Report
Treasurer Gary Dales reviewed the financial report and noted revenue of $109,602 and expenses of $124,723, generating a deficit of $15,121. He recommended several ways to shore up the cash balance and net assets, including a transfer between $5,000 and $10,000 from the Club to Rotary Service, Inc. that would utilize funds in custodial accounts totaling approximately $3,700. He also recommended a dedicated fundraising effort for Rotary Service, Inc.
 
President Bob brought forward a motion which was unanimously approved to release $3,500 from the John Mathers Memorial Account to be used as a partial scholarship for the Climate Change Certificate Program at San Francisco State University.
 
The Trustees then approved the financial report as presented by Treasurer Gary Dales.
 
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:25 PM.
