October 25, 2022 Board Highlights
Rotary Club of San Francisco
President Christopher Wiseman called the October 25, 2022 Board meeting to order at 4:01 PM. Stacey Poole, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
In attendance were President Christopher, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Wendy Shew, Frank Yoke, Margaret Miley, Jeff Lerner, Maureen O’Shea, Emily Borland, Lisa Christian, Scott Plakun, Brian Lan, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Absent was Mary Liu. Club members JT Forbus, Dan Davies, Dora Dye, Rachel Donovan, and Jeff Yih also attended the meeting.
Minutes
The Board approved the August 30, 2022 and the September 27, 2022 minutes. Scott Plakun abstained from voting on the August 30, 2022 minutes since he was not in attendance.
Administrative Issues
President Christopher gave an update on various administrative issues:
- He had attended the Santa Cruz Centennial Celebration and encouraged the Board to be a guest at the activities of other Rotary clubs.
- He announced that the November 2022 Board meeting would be via Zoom only.
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the September 2022 Financial Statements; the Board approved these Financial Statements.
Membership Report
Vice President of Membership Margaret Miley presented San Francisco State University (SFSU)’s application for corporate membership and three members from SFSU: Jaime Chaves, Kevin Simonin, and Vance Vredenburg (former member of our Club). The Board approved all three candidates and SFSU as our newest corporate member.
The Board also approved an equity membership. There would be attendance and participation expectations for equity members along with a minimum $25 donation. Otherwise, all costs of membership would be covered.
New Business
- President Christopher revealed his selection for Rotarian of the Month for the months of July, August, September, October, and November 2022 and said that these Rotarians would be honored be at the November 1, 2022 Fall Membership Appreciation Lunch.
- He gave an update on the Holiday Party and Annual Meeting, chaired by Mary Liu and Margaret Miley.
- President Christopher also discussed the Manila Sister Agreement.
Report from Nominating Committee
President-Elect Sunny Singh gave an update on the work of the Nominating Committee. He was encouraged by the progress made and noted that almost all positions had applicants except for treasurer. The slate would be finalized no later than the third week of November.

Rotary Service, Inc.
Barbara Streett was selected as the December 2022 Rotarian of the Month for her efforts in organizing The ARC Thanksgiving Luncheon.

November 29, 2022 Board Highlights

Absent was Brian Lan. Club member JT Forbus also attended the meeting.
Technical Issues
Due to a technical issues, the October 2022 Minutes and Financial Statements could not be reviewed and approved. They will be circulated and approved at the January 17, 2023 Board Meeting.
Treasurer Gary Dales did discuss the current financial state of the Club and noted that while we are in a strong financial position, we are slightly behind budget due to lower attendance at lunch meetings and members not timely paying their dues.
President's Report
President Christopher gave an update on his engagements. He recently spoke at the Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA #5) and has attended various other meetings. He encouraged the Board to be a guest at the activities of other Rotary clubs.
Membership Report
Vice President of Membership Margaret Miley presented Carrie Schucker's application for membership. Carrie was formerly a member of the Davis Rotary Club. She wants to focus on mental health issues and working with kids. The Board approved Carrie as our newest member.

Upcoming Events
Immediate Past President Mary Liu gave an update on the Holiday Party. The Committee had been working hard and was in need of gift cards for raffle prizes.
There was also an update on Emergency Services Day set for February 27, 2023. Sponsorships are needed to defray some of the costs to the Club.
