Rotary Club of San Francisco
President Frank Yoke called the meeting via Zoom to order at 4:04 p.m. on October 28, 2025. Secretary Dora Dye recorded the minutes.
 
In attendance were Gary Dales, Ann Daugherty, Dora Dye, Stephen Geisheker, Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, Margaret Miley, Maureen O’Shea, Hana Xu Wang, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and President Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Stellie Kim and Wendy Shew. Our guest was Sunny Singh. 
 
Approval of September 2025 and Special October 2025 Board Minutes
The Board approved the September 23, 2025 meeting minutes with one Board member abstaining.

The Board reviewed and accepted the minutes for the Special Board Meeting to meet with District Governor Mitone Griffiths on October 7, 2025.

Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the Balance Sheet, the outstanding dues to date, and the Statement of Operations through September 30, 2025 for the Rotary Club of San Francisco. The Board approved the Treasurer’s Report.
 
It was decided to post a reminder to pay membership dues in Grindings.
 
The Board discussed the management of the money raised from the Rotary International event commemorating the United Nations at 80.

President Frank announced that our Club had received $10,000 from Rotary District 5150 for our April 2026 Bike Build.

Candidates for Rotarian of the Month
The Board selected the Rotarians of the Month for December 2025 and January 2026.
 
Bru Brunnier Donations
President Frank announced that the collection of donations for the Bru Brunnier program has begun.
 
San Francisco Chamber of Commerce
Sunny Singh talked about a proposal to do a membership trade with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. The goal was for both our Club the SF Chamber of Commerce to participate in each other's events and share and grow with one another.
 
Meeting Preparation
Each month our Club meets three times: two luncheons and one Evening Meeting. President Frank asked that agenda items be submitted in advance and not at the last minute to ensure that the items would be covered at the meeting(s).
 
Report from Nominating Committee
President-Elect Ozan Yasavur reported that there was a great slate of candidates who had stepped forward to join the 2026-2027 Board.
 
Membership
Vice President Margaret Miley proposed Monica Sather for membership. The Board approved Monica Sather for membership.
 
Upcoming Club Events
President Frank led discussion on the following:
  • possible joint activities with the Rotary Club of Oakland.
  • registering for the Holiday Party on December 16, 2025 and the Annual Meeting where a quorum is needed.
  • attending some or all of the many event listed on the Club calendar in the months ahead.
Committee Reports
  • All Board members were encouraged to read the written Committee Reports that were included in today’s Board packet.
  • Vice President of DEI Tim Hornbecker invited all to the upcoming DEI events.
  • Vice President of Community Service Darlene Wilson invited all to donate new socks and toothbrushes to Sunny Singh so that he can distribute them on his next mission with Alliance for Smiles.

The Trustees approved the September 23, 2025 meeting minutes.
 
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the Balance Sheet, the receivables, and the Statement of Activity through September 30, 2025 for Rotary Service, Inc. The Trustees then approved the Treasurer’s Report as presented.
