I am thrilled and honored to address you as the newly elected President of our esteemed Rotary Club for the upcoming year. It is with immense pride that I step into this role, knowing the rich history and legacy we carry as the second oldest Rotary Club in the world. This legacy is not just a testament to our staying power but also to the remarkable dedication and impact of each member in our community.
As we embark on this journey together, I am excited to share that we have a great year of projects ahead of us. Our portfolio of Club projects is backed by almost a quarter of a million dollars. The funds are sourced from our own San Francisco Rotary Foundation and District Designated Funds (DDF). These funds reflect the incredible generosity and commitment of our Club members. Such generosity is a testament to our collective desire to make a positive difference in the world through our various projects and initiatives.
My presidential theme for this Rotary year, Tradition, Teaching, and Transformation, encompasses our commitment to upholding our cherished traditions, imparting knowledge, and fostering meaningful change in our community and beyond.
While I am filled with excitement and energy for the year ahead, I would be remiss not to acknowledge a hint of nervousness. However, with the unwavering support of my Rotary family, our dedicated Club members, my family, and my beloved spouse, I am confident that this will be a year filled with success, growth, and meaningful impact.
Please join me in registering for my first meeting, which will be held at noon at the Hotel Nikko, on July 9. For those unable to attend in person, I encourage you to participate via Zoom. Your presence is invaluable as we embark on this exciting journey together.
Thank you for entrusting me with this honor and privilege of being your president. I look forward to serving alongside each and every one of you as we continue to make a difference in the world!
Yours in Rotary service,
Bob Hermann
President 2024-2025
