The music chapel at Calvary Presbyterian Church was filled with song and spirit on Sunday, November 9, 2025 as Heroes’ Voices presented Hootenanny for Heroes, a sing-along concert celebrating classic, American folk music.

Heroes’ Voices, founded 11 years ago by founding director Rick Harrell who also served as the concert’s principal performer, raises funds to help Veterans reacclimate to civilian life — especially those coping with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD).

Joining Rick on stage today were Tenor Victor Floyd and the Blue Bear Rock and Roll Chorus, performing beloved folk songs by Woody Guthrie, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Dolly Parton, James Taylor, John Denver, and Leonard Cohen, to name a few!

The following members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco came out in support: Ann Daugherty, Bob Hermann, Tim Hornbecker, and Jim and Jo Patrick — all attending in honor of Veterans' Day and adding to the warm sense of gratitude and community. Together, voices and hearts united in a reminder of music’s power to heal, connect, and honor our Veterans! Rick gave a heartfelt thanks to our Club from the stage for our Club’s continued support and grant funding over the years.
