The Rotary Club of San Francisco had a display booth at the fifth Annual Autumn Moon Festival in the Richmond District of San Francisco on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Thank you to our members President-Elect Christopher Wiseman, Ann Daugherty, and Jenny Campbell and our guests James Wong (my husband), Jason Campbell (Jenny’s son), and Shirley Tan, who all joined me to represent our Club. Additionally, Vanita Louie, Cathy Cheng, and President Richard Swart (members from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown) were present to lend support.

Rotary BoothWe provided information at our booth about the upcoming Rotary Race to End Polio, about our Club, and Rotary. Our display booth ended up having the longest lines throughout the day as people wanted to spin our raffle wheel to win our prizes, which included Rotary pins, Rotary t-shirts, personal safety alarms, and cloth masks. Thank you to the Chinatown Club for providing the masks.

James and I distributed 50 personal safety alarms to a selected group of Asian Seniors during the festival.

We all had fun and enjoyed a day out being with the community and celebrating the Moon Festival, often considered a “Chinese Thanksgiving” because of its celebration of gratitude and inclusion of abundant food and the popular mooncake. We were treated with a Lion Dance that paraded up and down the street.
