The Rotary Club of San Francisco’s Holiday Party was held on December 13, 2022 at the Hotel Nikko. The festivities started early with fellowship, a chance to spin the wheel to win a prize, a make-up session with artist Lawrence Wu, fun at the photo booth, music by the Spencer Hoefert Quartet, and champagne. At 12 noon, President Christopher Wiseman (Nonprofit Management | Glaucoma Research Foundation) welcomed Rotarians and guests and wished everyone a happy holiday season.
After the restrictions of the pandemic lifted, the aftermath changed the way we were to such a degree that we are still trying to find a solid path on which to move forward. Working from home became the desire of many, affecting attendance at events outside the home. Our Club continues to offer a variety of activities and events in different modes. As part of your New Year's Resolutions, we hope that you will find a way to join us. Here are some ideas:
While all art is instrumental in expanding our minds and unlocking empathy and emotion, music has a unique power to connect us to each other, to probe our broken places, and to facilitate grieving, healing, and ultimately, joy. Michael Conley will talk about why art, generally, and music, specifically, are so crucial to our well-being as individuals and to our success as a society. Please note that this meeting will be via Zoom only and is free of charge. Advanced registration required. Connection instructions will be provided to all who register.
There is no Rotary Luncheon on January 17, 2023. You are welcomed to join the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and the Board of Trustees of Rotary Service, Inc.
Come and enjoy nature, fresh air, and fellowship while helping Sutro Stewards seed and restore Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 members of our Club. Advanced registration is required.
Join your fellow Rotarians for our first 2023 social to determine who will win bragging rights as our Ping Pong Champions! We will have tables reserved from 2 to 4 PM. Admission includes a light lunch and soft drinks. All Rotarians, their families and guests, and prospective members are welcome. Registration closes on January 22, 2023; sign up now to join the fun.
