Held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the 56th annual San Francisco Pride Parade brought approximately one million people to the City over Pride weekend. The parade included more than 300 contingents, including community groups, performers, civic leaders, nonprofits, and businesses. The Rotary Club of San Francisco participated in the 2026 San Francisco Pride Parade as part of the Rotary District 5150 Float Contingent and helped sponsor the District 5150 float.
Rotary District 5150’s participation was a visible expression of Rotary’s values of fellowship, inclusion, dignity, and service. Approximately 75 Rotarians, family members, friends, and supporters took part through the Steering Committee, parade march, float decorating, and after party. Participants represented clubs from across San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo Counties.
For the 2026-2027 Rotary Year, the Rotary Club of San Francisco and the San Francisco Rotary Foundation have made $10,000 available for emergency grant funding. This new funding opportunity allows the Club and Foundation to respond to important needs that arise during the Rotary year. These funds were intentionally left undesignated during the grant approval process between March 2026 and June 2026 so they can be used for timely projects that may not have been known or anticipated during the regular grant review process.
Immediate Past President Frank Yoke III (Development | Serra Residential Center, Inc.) welcomed all on Zoom and in person to the first meeting of the 2026-2027 Rotary year and introduced Ozan Yasavur (Technical Consulting | Brown and Caldwell).
Induction and Toast
After a warm welcome, District 5150 Governor YuHui Chen read the duties and responsibilities of Club President and inducted President Ozan Yasavur. Next, DG YuHui administered the oath and inducted the 2026-2027 Board of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. Following the inductions, the new Board and the audience raised a glass to thank the new Board and to wish a year of making a difference together.
Club Member James Horsman speaks to us about Artificial Intelligence (AI): how AI works and how it will make the work we do more efficient. James will share his experience with IT systems and AI productivity tools for efficiency and everyday use.

San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan, who represents District 1, will share what she is going to do for us when she gets to Congress. She has spent her life giving back to the San Francisco community that welcomed her family when they immigrated to America.
Rotaplast started as a world community service project of the Rotary Club of San Francisco in 1992-1993, and since then, has sponsored over 200 missions and helped over 20,000 children. Bring smiles to children around the world by participating in (or supporting) this tournament with Rotary clubs throughout our District 5150 and beyond. Funds raised will benefit the mission in Nagamangala, India.
