President Ozan Yasavur called the first Board meeting of the 2026-2027 Rotary year via Zoom to order on July 28, 2026. He thanked the Board members for their service and asked Board members to speak freely during this meeting. Secretary Stacey Poole recorded the minutes.
In attendance were Gary Dales, Ann Daugherty, Daniel DeSanto, Thomas Estruth, David Folk, Alisha Marfatia, Stacey Poole, Yana Sharma, Kayla Trunecek, and President Ozan Yasavur, constituting a quorum. Absent were Tim Hornbecker, Stellie Kim, and Hana Wang. President Ozan welcomed our guests: Mary Liu, Christopher Wiseman, and Frank Yoke.

The Board approved the June 23, 2026 meeting minutes.
Treasurer’s Report
President Ozan gave an overview of the 2026-2027 budget. Treasurer Gary Dales provided additional information on the proposed budget. The Board then approved the 2026-2027 budget.
The Board reviewed and approved the luncheon subsidy policy for Visiting Rotarians and Guests. The Board also approved two expenditures exceeding $5,000.
Past Club President and current Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Tim Hornbecker (Nonprofit Management | Retired, The Arc CA) called the meeting to order and welcomed all on Zoom and in person to the September 1, 2026 luncheon.

Members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco recently gathered at Family House for an evening of service, connection, and fellowship on September 1, 2026. As part of the evening, Rotarians provided a catered dinner for Family House residents and helped with a cleaning project. Volunteers also participated in arts and crafts activities, spending time with families, and helping to create a warm and welcoming community environment.
Family House provides free housing and support to families whose children are receiving medical care at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, offering families a welcoming home away from home during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Join us at this service opportunity to stuff diaper bags and organize diapers and wipes for giveaway to clients of the Homeless Prenatal Program. Event is limited to 4 people.
Join us at one or both of the Baby Showers at the Homeless Prenatal Program where we will give expectant mothers diaper bags filled with supplies. The party for Spanish speakers starts at 10 AM; the party for English speakers starts at 1 PM. Registration is limited to two Rotarians at each shower,
Curious about Rotary? Join us for a relaxed evening to meet current and other prospective members, learn what our Club is all about, and see if it's the right fit for you! Attendees will be able to get better acquainted with each other as well as with a few Club leaders and longer-term members. The evening promises to be fun and informative.

Recognizing Healthy Aging Month, our next DEI Film Festival movie is the Oscar-winning On Golden Pond, that explores the challenges and joys of multi-generational relationships within a family. We’re experimenting with a new format for this film, asking that you view it on your own and then participate in a Zoom discussion at 8 PM on Wednesday, September 23. Please consider sponsoring a “watch party” by inviting friends, family, and/or Club members to view the film with you. All are welcome to join the Zoom discussion.
Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's. Please register yourself and your guests so that we can plan the space.
