The PilgrimsAs we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, our November DEI Film Festival takes a look at the first English settlers to arrive in what is now Massachusetts.

The Pilgrims is a documentary that presents the history, religious origins, trans-Atlantic sailing, and first years of settlement Plymouth Colony established when the Mayflower arrived in 1620. The film separates historical facts from national myths, presenting us with a picture of struggles endured by these early settlers.

Created by filmmaker Ric Burns (father of Ken Burns), The Pilgrims was first broadcast in the U.S. in 2015 on PBS’ The American Experience.

This 90-minute film is rated PG.

The ticket price of $20 includes the film, snacks, beverages, dinner, and a discussion after the film. All are welcome to attend this inspiring and thought-provoking evening of film and conversation.

This event is sponsored by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and of District 5150.
