ESD 2022On Emergency Services Day, the Rotary Club of San Francisco annually honors outstanding representatives of the departments that we depend on for our public safety: the Fire Department, the Department of Emergency Management, the Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office, the Coast Guard, and the Recreation and Park Rangers.

Each honoree is celebrated for acts of heroism and outstanding service in handling an urgent call to duty in the past year. The heroes of Emergency Services Day are selected by the leadership of their department. This is a grand public forum where department leaders thank and congratulate the award winners, cheered on by an appreciative audience which include Rotarians, families of these guardians of our City, department leadership, and many political notables. This event has grown to be one of the most popular luncheons of the Rotary year.

When: February 27, 2023 from 11:15 AM to 2 PM.

Where: Emergency Services Day 2023 will be held at the Academy of Art Automobile Museum, 1849 Washington Street (corner of Washington Street and Van Ness Avenue). Follow signs to enter on the Van Ness Avenue side.

Transportation and Parking: The Museum is very accessible by public transportation; the MUNI 49 bus drops you off with a minute’s walking distance. For those who wish to drive, there is street parking and also a paid parking garage at Old First Garage at 1725 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, CA 94109, a five-minute, two-block walk to the venue.

Schedule: Lunch will be served starting at 11:50 AM, and the program commences at 12:15 PM, concluding at 1:30 PM with the Museum opened until 2 PM for viewing pleasure.
