Scott Wiener Join us for our Club's EVENING MEETING. This evening, State Senator Scott Wiener will be our guest speaker.

Throughout his career, Senator Wiener has worked to make housing more abundant and affordable, invest in our transportation systems, increase access to healthcare, meaningfully address climate change and the impacts of wildfires, reform our criminal justice system, reduce gun violence, reduce California’s high poverty rate, and safeguard and expand the rights of all communities, including immigrants and the LGBTQ community.

Elected in November 2016, Senator Wiener represents District 11 in the California State Senate. Before his election to the Senate, Senator Wiener served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, representing the district previously represented by Supervisor Harvey Milk. During his time on the Board of Supervisors, Senator Wiener authored a number of first-in-the-nation laws, including mandating fully paid parental leave for all working parents and requiring water recycling and solar power in new developments. He focused extensively on housing and public transportation, authoring laws to expedite approval of affordable housing, legalize new in-law units, and tie public transportation funding to population growth.

Senator Wiener received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a law degree from Harvard Law School. He spent a year in Chile on a Fulbright Scholarship doing historical research.

In addition to our guest speaker, we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship at this evening meeting. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's.

So that we can plan the space, we ask that you please register. Feel free to bring guest(s) and register them as well.
