SF Pride imageJoin us for a great movie followed by dinner and discussion.

Our film for July is Persepolis, the personal story of a young girl who lived through the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which led to the collapse of the Shah's government in Iran. As she grows up, she learns first-hand about the dangers of living in a tyrannical society ruled by Islamic fundamentalists. After studying in Vienna, where she has the opportunity to weigh the differences between living in Europe versus living in Iran, she ultimately learns who she is and how she fits into Iranian society.

Nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2008, Persepolis is based on the award-winning graphic novel of the same name. Both the book and the movie have won many awards around the world. This 96-minute film is rated PG-13.

This event is sponsored by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and of District 5150.

Sign up now! Space is limited and registration is available through July 18. The ticket price of $20 includes the film, snacks and beverages, plus dinner and discussion after the film.
