Mark FlegelPast District 5150 Governor Mark Flegel joins our luncheon to speak on the life of young Paul Harris, the Founder of Rotary.

PDG Mark Flegel is retired from Flegels Fine Furnishings, the furniture store started by his parents in 1954 in Menlo Park. Mark and his brothers worked in the store while growing up. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Philosophy, Mark joined the family business in 1971. It was Mark who brought the store to be the premier high-end furniture store in the United States. "I always knew he was a natural-born merchandiser," said his dad.

He has served on several city and area commissions and boards and as a trustee for Menlo College and for The C.S. Lewis Foundation. He is currently a Director of San Francisco Fleet Week.

Mark has been a Rotarian for over 40 years and is a member and a past president of the Rotary Club of Menlo Park. Mark was Governor of Rotary District 5150 in 2006-2007 and involved in District 5150 Scholarships, the Youth Exchange Program, and Youth Protection. He has also supported and participated on numerous international humanitarian medical missions for Rotaplast and Alliance for Smiles.
