At the inaugural meeting of the Rotary Club of San Francisco for the 2026-2027 Rotary year, incoming President Ozan Yasavur and the Board of Directors will be inducted. President Ozan will introduce the Rotary International theme (Create Lasting Impact) and his presidential theme (Building Peace Across Differences) and share what these themes mean for our Club and community.
Ozan’s Rotary journey began in 2017 at the age of 24 when he was a Rotaractor with the Şişli Rotaract Club in Istanbul, Türkiye. He joined the Ankara Bahçelievler Rotary Club in 2019 and the Rotary Club of San Francisco in 2022.
In the Rotary Club of San Francisco, he serves as President-Elect for the 2025-2026 Rotary year and was Vice President of Club Services from 2023 to 2025. Since 2023, Ozan has led the DEI Film Festival and has been an active member of the Club DEI Committee. He has been active member of the District 5150 DEI Committee since 2024. Ozan led the Antakya Clean Water Storage Tank Project, a successful global grant project that was especially meaningful to him following the devastating earthquake in Türkiye. His favorite Rotary projects include the DEI Film Festival, the Bike Build, and the Antakya Clean Water Storage Tank Project.
Ozan earned dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He began his career as a mechanical engineer and transitioned to civil engineering after moving to the United States. Over the course of his career, he has worked in the aerospace, energy, and construction industries. Ozan earned his Professional Engineer license in California and currently works at Brown and Caldwell as a Senior Technical Consultant.
Ozan and his wife, fellow Rotarian Merve Yasavur, moved to the United States five and a half years ago and have been proud to call this country home ever since. They enjoy traveling and are competitive CATAN players who try to gather weekly with friends for game nights. Ozan and Merve are currently expecting their first child.
