Join your fellow Rotarians and friends to learn more about our work at Sutro Stewards on Mount Sutro where the Rotary Club of San Francisco has maintained an ecosystem of native plans for over 10 years.
Did you know that many common Bay Area weeds are edible? These are the same weeds that we pull from our habitat restoration sites on Mount Sutro. Come and take care of nature, give our native plants a helping hand, and thus, foster biodiversity on the Mountain.
We will pull weeds for about an hour and then take those weeds back to our kitchen to make a delicious lunch! We can steward the ecosystem and our own bellies at the same time!
Before you participate, please review these important guidelines:
- Arrive 10 minutes early for registration and signing of release form.
- There will be an orientation, and each participant will receive training, gloves, and tools from the Sutro Steward leaders. Feel free to bring your own gloves and equipment.
- Wear closed-toe shoes.
- If you want, bring your own water.
