The Arc San Francisco has partnered with Peter DeHaas and the San Francisco Disability Business Alliance as well as the City and County of San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development to teach skills in entrepreneurship to participants at The Arc SF. Participants will prepare "pitch" presentations on what they have learned with the help and support of professionals from the Rotary Club of San Francisco. See below for the open positions and commitment:

Mentors: Four mentors are needed. All mentors must complete a 20-30 minute orientation; the orientation will be conducted on Zoom by appointment with Barbara Streett.

Mentor Position:  You will work one on one with a participant from The Arc SF to help prepare a pitch for the participant's business plan. Desirable qualification for the mentor includes experience working or managing a small business. You will meet your participant 2-3 times in the month of October 2023. You can either meet at The Arc at 1500 Howard Street on Thursday at 1 PM on October 5, October 12, or October 19 or via Zoom in the evening. Meeting time on Zoom depends your schedule and the participant's schedule.

If you are meeting on Zoom from your home, you will need a Zoom account. If you meet at The Arc, please bring a laptop if you can.

To apply for the Mentor position, please email Barbara Streett with the subject line: Rotary Mentor Volunteer.

Panel on Thurday, October 26, 2023 from 1 PM to 3 PM: 4-6 people are needed to serve on this panel.

Panelist position: You will listen to participants pitch their small business ideas and provide constructive feedback.
