Join us for a reflective Walk for Peace in the towering redwoods of Muir Woods to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. In 1945, UN delegates gathered at this very site to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his vision of global unity — an event commemorated by a bronze plaque still standing in Cathedral Grove.
This meaningful morning will include brief remarks from Club Member Heidi Kuhn who is the Founder of Roots of Peace and a 2024 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Also speaking will be a representative from the National Park Service, who will share the historic and environmental significance of Muir Woods.
Together, we will walk in remembrance of the past and in hope for a more peaceful and sustainable future.
If you wish to attend, you must register in advance by contacting patrick.dunn@rootsofpeace.org No walk-ins will be admitted.
If you are driving, parking reservations are required and must be made in advance at https://gomuirwoods.com
