Opportunities to Become Involved with Youth Services
Our Club's Youth Services Committee is seeking advisers for Interact and Rotaract. Advisers can work in pairs or small teams to support each Interact and Rotaract Club.

Interact logoInteract: Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Our Club currently oversees two Interact Clubs in collaboration with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown: one at Lowell High School and the other at George Washington High School. The adviser for each Interact Club must be available to meet in person either midday or after school once a month.

Rotaract logoRotaract: Rotaract clubs were created to bring together young people ages 19-30 to take action in their communities and develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Our Club currently oversees two Rotaract Clubs: one at the University of San Francisco in collaboration with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown and the other at San Francisco State University in collaboration with the Rotary Club of San Francisco West. While Rotaract clubs can now operate independently, a Rotarian adviser is still recommended for guidance. The adviser must be available to meet once every 1-2 months either in person or online.

It was a transformative and joyful week. A story about the RYLA experience will be published in the near future. For now, we’d like to recognize and express our gratitude to the following members of our Club who led and served the 2023 RYLA Camp:

  • Lynn Luckow, RYLA Camp Director, for his vision and countless hours over the past year.
  • David Dye, RYLA Planning Committee Member, for serving as treasurer and RYLA Camp session speaker. David and his wife, Dora Dye, shopped for camp snacks and assembled the RYLA bead necklace for all campers, facilitators, alumni, and administrative staff.
  • Todd St Vrain, RYLA Recruitment Chair, for serving as facilitator and RYLA Camp session speaker.
  • Steve Lindstrom, RYLA Planning Committee Member, for maintaining the RYLA website and serving as an administrator.
