Connect in Rotary District 5150
There is no Club Luncheon during the week of July 24-30, 2023. However, as members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, you are all invited to the Board meetings of our Club and of Rotary Service, Inc.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Camp Visit: August 3, 2023
All Rotarians are invited to visit the RYLA Camp on Thursday, August 3, 2023 and join RYLA students and staff for lunch at 12:15 PM to 1 PM. Please note that lunch will be served only during this time period. Rotary District 5150 Governor Laine Hendricks from the Rotary Club of San Francisco will be present to speak to us during the lunch.
 
You are also welcomed to arrive at 10 AM to observe the RYLA students' team-building activities or stay after lunch for the Mental Health Matters plenary session from 1 PM to 2 PM. This plenary session will be led by Jenny Bates from the Rotary Club of San Rafael Evening who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Waves of Change Recovery Services and chair of the Mental Health Action Group in our Rotary District.

LUNCHEON MEETING HIGHLIGHTS July 18, 2023: Lunch with SFJAZZ
President Sunny Singh (Financial Services: Advising | PK Wealth Management) called today's meeting to order at 12:18 PM and welcomed those online and those attending in person at the Anzu Restaurant in the Hotel Nikko.
 
Bridget MahoneyNew Members Inducted
President Sunny and Anita Stangl (Medical Services | Alliance for Smiles) inducted Bridget Mahoney (Nonprofit Administration | Catholic Charities SF) into our Club. Bridget becomes the newest member of our corporate member - Catholic Charities San Francisco and expressed her excitement to participate in the many activities that our Club has to offer.
 
Hana Xu WangPresident Sunny and Anita welcomed back Hana Xu Wang (Financial Services: Advising | Wang Wealth Advisors, LLC) to our Club. Hana had been an active member of our Club for a decade, but left during the height of the pandemic. Said Hana, "I missed Rotary during my absence and am glad to be back."
 
A warm welcome to both Bridget and Hana! When you see either Bridget or Hana at one of our meetings or events, please introduce yourself to them.

ROTARY LUNCHEON August 1, 2023: State Senator Scott Wiener
California State Senator Scott Wiener will give an overview on the legislation and the priorities he has planned for the 2023 legislative cycle. In the Senate, Senator Wiener works to make housing more abundant and affordable, invest in our transportation systems, increase access to healthcare, meaningfully address climate change and the impacts of wildfires, reform our criminal justice system, reduce gun violence, reduce California’s high poverty rate, and safeguard and expand the rights of all communities, including immigrants and the LGBTQ community.

ROTARY LUNCHEON August 8, 2023: JoEllen Arntz and SMUIN Contemporary Ballet
JoEllen Arntz, Company Manager and Wardrobe Supervisor of the SMUIN Contemporary Ballet, will present a very unique view of the Ballet World that is sure to please both adults and children. She will bring authentic SMUIN ballet costumes for the audience to view. Members and guests are encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren to this luncheon who will be allowed to come to the front of the room to view the costumes closely and see how they are made.
 
 
No Meeting on August 15, 2023
There is no Rotary Luncheon on August 15, 2023. Please join us on August 17, 2023 for a reception and a night at the theater to watch A Chorus Line. Attendance is capped at 25 people, so buy your ticket early!
 
Our next Rotary Luncheon will be on August 22, 2023 when our speakers will be three winners of the Miss Indian New Mexico Pageant who will speak on their organization and its mission.
 
CLUB SOCIAL August 17, 2023: A Chorus Line and Welcome Reception
Enjoy a night at the theater and watch the Broadway classic - A Chorus Line - at the San Francisco Playhouse with the Rotary Club of San Francisco. Before the show, there will be a welcome reception in the Kensington Park Hotel that offers heavy appetizers and drinks. This event is open to all Rotarians, their families, and guests (including prospective members). Attendance is capped at 25 people, so buy your ticket early!
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON August 22, 2023: Miss Indian New Mexico, Inc
Miss Indian New Mexico, Inc. is a Tribal group that seeks to to protect, revitalize, and educate communities of the diverse cultures of all Tribal Nations in the State of New Mexico. Joining us today to speak on the Mission and Goals of Miss Indian New Mexico, Inc. are three winners of the Miss Indian New Mexico Pageant who are also leaders in their chosen profession.
 
SERVICE PROJECT August 26, 2023:  Volunteering at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank
Join us to assemble and package food for distribution at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The Food Bank continues to need your helping hands. Register early as the number of volunteers is limited to 10 for safety reasons.
