Visiting Rotarians and Guests
This evening's Visiting Rotarians were Liz Mark from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown; Federico Alvarez del Blanco from a Rotaract club in Spain; and Roberto Alvarez del Blanco from the Rotary Club of Lamorinda Sunrise in Spain. Our guests were Norman Gershenz, Hiroe Kobayashi, and Nahid Khodakarami. Also in attendance was former Member Bill Gregory. Welcome to all!
New Member Inducted
Kayla Trunecek and Tamour Khan joined President Frank to induct a new member. President Frank introduced Thomas Estruth (Ad Sales | KRON4). Thomas' father and grandfather are Rotarians, and Thomas has already joined several Committees in our Club. Thomas' mentor in Rotary is Tamour Khan. Rotarians in today's audience pledged to support Thomas on his Rotary journey. Please welcome Thomas when you see him at our meetings and events.

Ukraine Update
President Frank gave an update on the conditions in Ukraine: the continuation of attacks, the destruction of schools and a medical center, and fears that people may still be trapped under rubble. He also talked about opportunities to help: supporting the Rotary Club of Kyiv-Balzac that is supporting displaced families, supporting Aid to Internally Displaced Persons Centers, and supporting Healing Camp for Children of Fallen Heroes.

40 and Under Committee
President Frank announced the formation of the 40 and Under Committee for those members age 40 and under. Thank you to Stacey Poole (Law: Family | Lerner Poole & Stewart, LLP) for the idea to start this Committee. Leading this Committee will be President-Elect Ozan Yasavur (Engineering: Mechanical | Frank M. Booth, Inc.), Yana Sharma (Software Sales | IBM), and Merve Yasavur (Information Technology: Computer Science | Self-employed).

- Past District 5150 Governor Peter Lagarias (Law: Franchise | Lagarias, Napell & Dillon) invited all to attend the 2025 Rotaplast Bocce Ball Tournament and BBQ on August 24, 2025.
- Visiting Rotarian Liz Mark invited all to participate in the District 5150 Coastal Clean-up.
- Past President and current District 5150 Youth Protection Officer David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired) announced that our Club sponsors Interact Clubs and needs Interact leaders. An Interact leader training is scheduled for August 23, 2025. Please contact David to sign up.
